DESCRIPTION:Memorial Day traditions combine elements of solemn remembrance of those who gave their all while serving in the military forces of the United States of America\, community gathering\, and patriotic expression. \nThis year there will be a Memorial Day Ceremony at the Anthem Veterans Memorial to remember those Killed in Action (KIA) and Missing in Action (MIA) and whose bricks are laid there. \nThe ceremony is co-sponsored by Daisy Mountain Veterans and the Anthem Community Council.  All are welcome to attend.  There will be 200 chairs provided to be used on a first-come-first-served basis.  If you would like to bring your own chair\, please do so. \nThank you and we hope to see you at the ceremony.

DESCRIPTION:Grab your friends\, a flag or even dust off your ole rucksack and be sure to join us for our patriotic Memorial Day Flag 5k/10k Trail Run/Ruck hosted by Gut Check Fitness\, Memorial Day weekend as we pay tribute to the brave men and women that gave the ultimate sacrifice for this great Nation of ours. \n\nOur goal is to get as many people as possible to carry an American flag during the event\, high and proud\, either individually or with a team.\nThere are two different distance options to choose from\, either the 5k or the 10k.\nYou can run/hike the 5k or 10k\, with a 35lb rucksack or without.\nBoth courses are an out and back on the very scenic Black Canyon Trails.\nThis is a cupless event to prevent extra waste. Please bring either a handheld water bottle or a Camelbak bladder. There will be emergency water on the course but the stations will be directed by US Marine Veterans\, meaning you might have to do a few burpees for the water.\nIt could be hot so please dress accordingly.\n\nEvent Details: \n\nEvent Check-in – 0600-0640 hours\nEvent Race Briefing – 0645 hours\nEvent Start – 0700 hours promptly\n\nAll donations and a portion of the proceeds will go to the local Anthem – Daisy Mountain Veterans. They are a non-profit\, 501(c)3 organization\, established in 2012\, comprised of former service members\, active duty military\, families of above\, or anyone whose interest is the well-being of Veterans and their families. Their mission is to honor\, support\, and thank all who have served and who are currently serving in our Military. Their organization has a history of serving communities\, promoting Americanism\, family values\, youth programs\, freedom\, and liberty.  The members celebrate the achievements and sacrifices of members of our Armed Forces with whom they\, as Veterans\, share common experiences. \nGet out there\, fly your flags and most importantly\, let’s honor those who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces. DESCRIPTION:TO ALL MEMBERS OF DAISY MOUNTAIN VETERANSDaisy Mountain Veterans (DMV) is planning an outing to Luke Days 2026.In case you aren’t aware of what Luke Days is\, it is an airshow\, including the internationally renowned US Air Force Thunderbirds.  Plus\, it’s much more.  Please visit website Luke Days 2026 for more details.The day will be Sunday\, 22 March 2026 and the show hours are 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.DMV will pay for up to four (4) Premium Box Seats per DMV member or family.  See attached Premium Box Seat details.Premium Box Seats are $82.50 each\, so if you need more than 4\, and you want the extras to stay with the DMV group\, the cost to you will be $82.50 per each.DMV will hire/charter a bus(s) for the event so that we will all have a ride to the event.  Details on the bus (how many\, schedule\, etc.) will be forthcoming later when the number of people in our party is known.We look forward to a fun day at Luke Days!!!
